MERIT Best Presentation Award
A prize of 3,000 to attend an overseas fully refereed conference will be granted for the best oral presentation at the MERIT Symposium.
NICTA Best Poster Award for Research Excellence
A prize of 3,000 to attend an overseas fully referred conference will be granted for the best poster, judged at the MERIT Symposium.
The Bionic Ear Institute Award for Innovative Health-related Research
A prize to the value of $500 will be awarded for innovative health related research, courtesy of the Bionic Ear Institute.
A prize to the value of $500 will be awarded for commercialisation potential, courtesy of NanoVic.
The Ausbiotech AusMedTech Future Technology Award
Student registration at the Ausbiotech Conference, 26-29 Oct 2008 or in June 2009, plus a ticket to the conference dinner. Prize valued at $770 for Ausbiotech members or $2145 non-members.
These prizes aim to inspire, celebrate and reward research excellence within the Melbourne Engineering Research Institute at the Melbourne School of Engineering.
Judging Criteria
Posters and Presentations will be judged on the day of the Symposium by a panel comprising of research theme leaders, sponsors and the MERIT Director.
The following criteria will be taken into consideration by the judges:
- benefit of research to society
- clarity of content and presentation skills
- research innovation
- quality and excellence of research
